The Mas de Lunès is a kind of retreat. One goes there to escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern, polluted, noisy world. Vines thrive in this protected natural site, 12 miles (20 km) from the nearest major road, set among undulating, garrigue-covered hills - this really is 'the' place for AOC wines. The generous "terroir" produces great wine, but it's hard work for the vines themselves, so yields are low.
Philippe and Frédéric Jeanjean's range of wine reflects a little of every nook and cranny of this outstanding, unspoilt setting. Each stone, each shoot of wild thyme: everything in the 2,500 acre (1000 ha) garrigue-covered property gives something of itself to each bottle.
